When she'd see him on TV, she'd say to me:
Mom: Oh, I wish you could marry him.
Me: Right, cause we travel in the same circles.
It never occurred to her how I'd pull that off. And, when she was told he got married, she gave me a look like: "Nice going -- you missed the boat on that one."
